The number one prescribed treatment for chronic migraines is botulinum toxin. It is estimated that 70% of patients have a reduction in their migraines following treatment. During this treatment botulinum toxin is injected into multiple areas around the head and neck. Treatment is intended for patients age 18 and older who experience 15 or more migraine days per month. You may feel results as early as 4 weeks after receiving treatment. Full effectiveness is measured at week 24. It is recommended that treatment be repeated every 3 months. Some patients may require more than one treatment before seeing a reduction in the frequency of migraines. Unfortunately we are unable to accept insurance, however we can accept some HSA cards. If you would like to use your prescription insurance to purchase Botox (which is the majority of the cost of the treatment) we can place an order through your pharmacy. Bringing your own Botox from the pharmacy will reduce the treatment cost to $375.
Since medication is infused directly into your bloodstream you can have rapid results. The vitamins in the infusion will help target the root of the problem and soothe side effects. Vitamin B2 has been shown to decrease the length and frequency of migraine attacks. IV fluids will help keep you hydrated, which reduces nausea. Magnesium is included because migraines have been linked to magnesium deficiency. Infusion includes Magnesium, Calcium Chloride, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C and possibly Ketorolac (for pain), Ondansetron (for nausea) and Dexamethasone (for pain). If you are currently having a migraine and would like to book now, please call 603-338-6065 and leave a message and we will get back to you asap and let you know if we can accommodate you.
The SPG is a collection of nerve cells that is closely associated with the trigeminal nerve, which is the main nerve involved in headache disorders. We are able to stop your headache by administering numbing medication to the SPG. The least invasive way to access the SPG is through the nose.
